Over 350 women and men volunteer at Chrysalis each year in direct service, administrative support, governance and professional internships. About 75% of Chrysalis services are provided by trained volunteers.

Our services would not be possible without the help of volunteers!

Resource Counselor
Provide support, resources and referrals to women who call or walk into Chrysalis. Job description (145KB)

Education & Support Group Facilitator
Help create a safe space for women to meet and talk about various life transitions. Group topics include: Strengthening Self-Esteem, Coming Out, Uncoupling and others. Job description (105KB)

Child Care Provider
Care for children and infants in our full-time, licensed child care or our evening short-term child care. Job description (145KB)

Sandcastles Facilitator Assistant
Work with Sandcastles Facilitators to lead a four-hour workshop for children whose parents are going through divorce or separation. Job description (146KB)

LAW Program Volunteer
Assist clients and attorneys at legal advice clinics and legal information sessions on divorce, child custody and other family law issues. Some also assist with employment, child protection, or LGBT issues. Job description (107KB)

Limited Legal Services Clinic Volunteer
Assist attorneys in drafting court papers and pro se assistance in family law matters. Must be law student, paralegal, paralegal student or have similar experience. Job description (176KB)

Attorneys
Provide limited legal services or pro bono representation in family law cases. Provide legal advice at Family, Employment, Child Protection, or Lavender LAW Clinics. Present at legal information sessions for people in family court proceedings. Job description (132KB)

Safety Project Attorney
Provide quality pro bono legal representation to low-income battered women seeking orders for protection who have a compelling need for legal assistance. Support provided by Chrysalis attorney and domestic violence advocates. Job description (131KB)

Office Specialist
Use your clerical skills to support women and their families. Complete a wide variety of projects in our program areas, volunteer services, development, or marketing and communications.

Internships
Our flexible internship program includes opportunities in Resource Counseling, Family Education and Legal Assistance.

Training

Each Chrysalis volunteer receives an orientation to the agency and on-the-job training with program staff. Volunteers in Resource Counseling, Group Facilitation and the LAW Program go through an intensive training.
