Thunder Spirit Center

Thunder Spirit Center (TSC) provides services for children, young adults, and families struggling with the challenge of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

What is FASD?

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a range of birth defects caused by maternal consumption of alcohol during pregnancy. At birth, FASD can be recognized physically by a growth deficiency and a characteristic set of minor facial traits that tend to become more normal as the child matures. Less evident at birth, but far more devastating to FASD children and their families, are the lifelong effects of alcohol-induced damage to the developing brain. Its effects on the baby vary, and include neurological damage, physical deformities of facial features, developmental delay, and a variety of behavioral disorders.
