Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Mondays, 5:00 - 7:00 pm
  • Tuesdays, 5:30 - 7:30 pm
  • Wednesdays, 9:30 am - 11:30 pm
  • Thursdays, 10:00 am - Noon

A psychosocial skills training for women, consisting of four 8-week modules to develop skills such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, behavior management, and interpersonal effectiveness. Attention to chemical use issues is integrated into the group content. (Note: DBT is not a substitute for chemical dependency treatment if it is recommended.) Participants are required to continue individual therapy while they are involved in the DBT group.

DBT Phase II - Depression

  • Mondays, 10:00 am - 11:30 am

This ongoing group is for women who struggle with Depression and have completed the basic DBT Skills Training. Clients who already understand and use the skills consistently in their daily lives learn to find ways to integrate the skills. Clients focus on ways to apply the skills to decrease their depression symptoms. Clients process difficulties they are having with skills, thereby enhancing their quality of life.

DBT Phase II - Aftercare

  • Tuesdays, 5:00 - 6:30 pm

This group is for clients who have completed the initial DBT Skills training, have shown an understanding of the skills and have exhibited a consistent application of the skills. It will help clients with an advanced application and processing of the skills. This group focuses on greater integration of the skills into their lives.

DBT for Adolescents

  • Wednesdays, 4:00 - 6:00 pm

A psychosocial skills training for adolescent girls ages 13-17 years old. Adolescents and a parent or caregiver attend this 20-week group together to learn skills helpful in managing emotions and behaviors such as mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation. Adolescents are required to participate in individual therapy at Chrysalis or elsewhere in the community.

Mixed Issues

  • Tuesdays, 4:00 - 6:00 pm
  • Wednesdays, 4:30 - 6:30 pm
  • Thursdays, 4:00 - 6:00 pm

These long-term groups focus on a variety of concerns including childhood abuse and trauma, interpersonal and relationship problems, and those ongoing issues that interfere with attaining the quality of life one desires.

These groups are all held at Chrysalis.
