Law Clinics give women the opportunity to speak one-on-one with a volunteer attorney about concerns in the area of family law (divorce, child support, custody and paternity, for example), lavender law (issues facing LBT women), employment law (job discrimination, FMLA, wrongful termination, and unemployment benefits, for example), and child protection (family assessments, removal of a child, voluntary placements and termination of parental rights, for example).
Legal Information Sessions give individuals the knowledge and tools necessary to make informed legal and financial decisions throughout the divorce process.
Lavender Legal Information Session provides legal information and practical tips for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals.
Legal Resources include referrals to private lawyers, other legal services and Chrysalis legal brochures.
Limited Legal Services help women represent themselves in family law matters by preparing court documents, providing legal advice, and preparing for mediation, court conferences and evaluations, and court hearings.
Pro Bono Family Law Project provides free legal representation to low-income women with family law cases in Hennepin or Ramsey County.
The Pro Bono Safety Project
works with law firms and domestic abuse agencies to provide
representation and other supportive services to low-income battered women
seeking Orders for
Protection (OFP) against their abusers.
