Beverly C. Dusso

The combined agency is led by Beverly Dusso, long-time Executive Director of Tubman. Ms. Dusso led Tubman since 1989 and during her tenure the agency experienced tremendous growth, from an annual operating budget of $650,000 to just over $7 million (pre-merger), and expanded its focus to include violence prevention services in addition to shelter. She also led the successful merger between Harriet Tubman Center and Family Violence Network in 2002. Her leadership during that merger provides valuable experience for the current one. Cindy Murphy Kelley, Executive Director of Chrysalis since 2001, has left the agency but will provide consultation and assist with integration. The leadership structure of the combined agency maintains the strong programmatic expertise for which each agency is known. A combined staff of 170 individuals includes clinical, professional, and direct service employees.
