Sandcastles

This four-hour workshop helps children ages 6-17 address feelings they have when their parents are going through separation or divorce. Children learn coping skills that will assist them in expressing their feelings through drawing, writing, and talking with other children. The workshop will help children:

  • Understand that there are different kinds of families
  • Recognize and work through painful feelings
  • Communicate their feelings and concerns about divorce
  • Develop problem-solving and coping skills
  • Understand they are not to blame for their parents' divorce

In the last half hour, parent(s) and child(ren) come together to talk with one another about their feelings and concerns.
